Sam was born and raised in Punxsutawney, PA and is notably, the nephew of the infamous and wise, Punxsutawney Phil. Sam’s Brad Show Live debut was on Groundhog Day, February 2, 2018, after taking a wrong turn while burrowing with friends, and landing in New York City.
By happenstance, Groundhog Sam popped up out of the ground in City Hall Park across the street from the main offices of Spar & Bernstein, located at 225 Broadway.
Asking the nice man at the pretzel stand on the corner of Broadway and Vesey how to get back to Punxsutawney, PA, but not understanding left from right, Groundhog Sam took another wrong turn and ended up by happy accident on the fifth floor of 225 Broadway.
Wandering through the halls of Spar & Bernstein, Groundhog Sam found Brad’s office where he discovered an open bag of pretzels. While in the process of devouring the bag, Brad caught him red handed. Feeling sorry for the lost and hungry critter, Brad offered him an on-air internship on Brad Show Live.
The symbiotic relationship between Groundhog Sam and Brad has blossomed since. Sam loves how Brad helps so many people, and Brad finds Groundhog Sam to be an amusing troublemaker who the Brad Squad, Brad Show Live team, and attorneys at Spar & Bernstein have all grown to love.
At the top of each show, Groundhog Sam recaps what happened on the episode before, while sharing numerous adventures in and out of the office with viewers.
Since joining the Brad Show Live team, Groundhog Sam’s horizons have been expanded. Instead of the burrow in Pennsylvania, Sam now lives in the borough of Manhattan, one of the most exciting cities in the world. Sam has also traveled to numerous other towns up and down the east coast with various Brad Show Live team members. Groundhog Sam has no education but claims to be a student of the world.
